Retailer joins Phones 4U, O2 and Three in announcing it will sell the 41 megapixel smartphone
Carphone Warehouse has confirmed it will stock the Nokia Lumia 1020 when it is released in the UK in September.
The retailer joins Phones 4U, O2 and Three, who yesterday all announced they will be selling the latest addition to the manufacturer’s smartphone range.
The Nokia Lumia 1020 was unveiled at the Nokia’s ‘Zoom Reinvented’ launch event in New York yesterday.
The phone has a 41 megapixel camera sensor, runs Windows Phone 8 and is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor,
It houses Zeiss optics with six physical lenses and optical image stablisation, which aims to increase picture quality in low light conditions. It also features dual capture, meaning the Lumia 1020 simultaneously takes a 38 megapixel image, and creates a five megapixel picture that can be shared to social networks.
Nokia has released a new imaging software development kit (SDK), which the manufacturer said provides key image editing features of the smartphone to developers.
Other features include a 4.5-inch HD touchscreen made from Gorilla Glass, 1.2-megapixel wide angle front camera, 2,000 mAh battery with wireless charging supported by a cover, free access to Nokia’s HERE Maps and HERE Drive+ services, 32GB of internal memory and 7GB of free SkyDrive cloud storage.
