Three took home the inaugural 5G Availability award
EE was the big winner in Opensignal’s 5G awards as it took home six out of the seven awards on offer.
The operator took home awards 5G download speed and upload speed and shared first place for 5G video experience with O2.
EE’s winning score for 5G download speeds is 140 Mbps and 35.9 per cent faster than last-placed Vodafone’s. EE’s score was also 11.1 Mbps faster than second-placed O2’s score of 128.9 Mbps.
5G users also have the best overall experience on EE and the operator won all three awards that look at the overall experience of 5G users.
EE didn’t sweep the board, however, sharing the 5G video experience award with O2 despite all operators impressing in this area.
EE and O2 were statistically tied at the top with scores of 81.3 and 80.6 out of 100, respectively. Three UK scored 79.3 while Vodafone recorded 76 points.
Three UK, meanwhile, took home the award for 5G availability.
5G users spent the largest proportion of their time connected to 5G (6.5 per cent) when using Three’s network – one percentage point ahead of second-placed EE’s score of 5.5 per cent. Vodafone and O2 were further behind with scores of 4.6 per cent and 3.3 per cent.
