Five staff recruited as Vodafone platinum partner looks to appoint a sales director and further four sales people in the coming weeks
B2B dealer Excalibur Communications has hired four new sales staff and a new financial director.
The Vodafone platinum partner confirmed the appointment of Adrian Wheeler as its new finance director last month.
Wheeler, a qualified accountant, has worked in the finance industry for 24 years and joins from Metric Group where he worked for 11 years.
His responsibilities will include management of cash flow, forecasting and commissions.
Excalibur CEO James Phipps (pictured) said he received more than 60 applications for the role that he believes makes Excalibur’s management team one of the strongest in the industry.
The four new sales staff, who are based at the firm’s head once in Swindon, are a mixture of successful candidates from a graduate scheme and an intensive interview session carried out in its assessment centre. The company aims to bolster the sales team by another four members between July and August.
The firm also expects to appoint a new sales director by the end of June. Phipps claims to have received more than 100 CVs for the role and had whittled it down to 10 as Mobile News went to press.
The additions take the number of employees at Excalibur from 50 to 60 in the past 12 months.
Phipps said: “We have been working hard to get the right people in and we feel we have one of the strongest management teams around. We have made a tremendous investment in this area and have attracted some excellent individuals.”
