Former supply chain director and VP at Universal Music Group charged with managing the distributor’s logistics and warehousing operations

Exertis has appointed former Vodafone supply chain director Kevin Paterson as its new chief operating officer. He replaces Robert White, who left the business in March.

Paterson (pictured) will head up its logistics and warehousing operations and take a leading role in the integration of consumer electronics distributor, Computers Unlimited, within the business following its acquisition by Exertis’ parent company DCC earlier this year.

He will also be responsible for the new purpose-built 450,000 sq ft UK national distribution centre located in Burnley Bridge Business Park.

Paterson spent almost nine years at Vodafone from November 2001 until August 2010 and in his role as supply chain director for six of those, managed the operator’s outsourced logistics operations with UTL and while during an interim role at Carphone Warehouse, supported the merger with Dixons Carphone.

More recently, he was VP of global operations, transformation and integration at Universal Music Group for two years, where he was charged with centralising the global supply chain and integrating EMI Records.

Exertis UK and Ireland managing director Gerry O’Keeffe said: “Kevin will become the voice of the customer in all that we do, ensuring we are constantly expanding our service offering to our customers and delivering best in class customer service.”
