The growth will focus on global market opportunities around data centres, FTTH, 5G and telco network services
Indigo Telecom has appointed Ian Duggan as its new CEO as part of plans to drive international growth.
Duggan joins the Welsh telecoms provider from 4site, a mobile wireless and fibre services provider that he founded, which has since been acquired by Indigo Telecom.
He has spent 30 years working across various civil engineering and telecom roles and founded 4site in 2003 where he was CEO.
He also worked at Esat Digafone (now O2 Ireland) where he helped with the rollout of mobile network sites.
International push
Duggan’s new role will task him with growing Indigo’s international business.
This will focus on capitalising on global market opportunities around data centres, fibre to the home (FTTH), 5G digitisation and telco network services.
Indigo Telecom Group executive chairman Kevin Taylor MBE has welcomed his appointment.
“Ian is a hugely experienced business leader with a proven history of developing and growing a sustainable, diversified and profitable business.
“We have worked closely together since the 4site acquisition and I have seen first-hand that Ian is the right person to lead Indigo Telecom Group forward into our next phase of our international growth.”
Commenting on his appointment Duggan added: “As well as establishing a stronger presence in Germany, APAC and the USA our ambition is to further expand and to become a telecom leader that commits to promoting a sustainable, inclusive and trusted workplace.
“I look forward to bringing my expertise and passion to the group, working closely with the board and executive management team to build on our winning culture for our employees while driving long-term value for our customers.”
