Customers who buy a 24 month deal on select handsets from online retailer can also pick up the Parrot Minidrone Rolling Spider Drone as a free gift
Mobiles.co.uk has became the first UK online retailer to offer drones as a free gift to customers taking out a smartphone contract.
The Carphone Warehouse subsidiary has launched a “drones with phones” deal that will allow customers buying a 24 month contract to pick up a Parrot Minidrone Rolling Spider drone (pictured above) as a free gift.
The Parrot drone has a range of up to 20m and can travel at speeds of up to 11Mph. It weighs 55 grams and is controlled by a smartphone via BlueTooth.
Smartphones in the offer include the Samsung Galaxy S6 or the Apple iPhone 6, plus handsets from Microsoft, Sony, Huawei, LG and Nokia.
The commercial drones market is set to be worth in excess of £4 billion by 2021, according to figures ofRnRMarketResearch.com.
Mobiles.co.uk spokesperson Abby Francis said: “We wanted to be the first to offer our consumers a drone with their phone package. This technology is very popular and with the Christmas period approaching, we wanted to offer a special gift to our customers.
“The demand for drones will only increase. Our customers have the chance to be ahead of the game.”
