The new deal adds to an existing five-year relationship between the pair
Repair and recycling specialist MTR has signed an exclusive three-year deal with Samsung to run its device trade-in programme throughout the UK.
The Harlow-based firm will run the programme both online and in Samsung’s 17 support centres. Locations include Bristol, Teddington, Romford, Manchester, Warrington and Sheffield.
Samsung’s trade-in programme allows customers to exchange an existing device for discounts off a newer one or a cash. It adds to MTR’s existing five-year relationship with the Korean manufacturer, which has been centred around the repair and refurbishment of its devices.
MTR was established in 2011 and currently employs 50. It conducted more than 70,000 repairs over the last year and opened a new service and support centre in Cambridge in March. May also saw it relocate from a 3,000 square foot repair facility in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire to its current 13,000 square foot facility in Harlow, which it has invested more than £350,000 in.
MTR Group MD Steve Healy said: “The goal at MTR was always to strengthen our relationship with Samsung. For several years, we have been working hard, relatively unknown to the industry creating a business model and brand that is ready for rapid growth without losing the quality of service that we’ve worked so hard to create.”
