O2 has launched a new family tablet bundle aimed at the 34 per cent of parents expecting to buy their five to 13 year old kids a tablet this year.
The offer costs £10n up front, with a £10 monthly subscription, which gives includes an Alcatel Pixi 8 tablet, a screen protector, a rubberized protective case and a two-year subscription to Azoomee, an app aimed at kids.
The Pixi 8 is an eight-inch tablet with a 5MP camera, with battery life up to 30 hours. It packs 8GB of internal memory.
The Azoomee app includes hundreds of videos, games, audiobooks and a digital arts studio which lets customers share creations with pre-approved family and friends.
The operator and Azoomee will also donate £4 to children’s charity the NSPCC for every customer who downloads and activates the app. O2 has been partnered with the NSPCC for several years, and last year launched a free training scheme to help parents protect their kids online.
Available on the O2 Refresh tariff, contracts start from £10 up front and £10 per month thereafter for 500MB data, with up to 20GB available for £30 a month. The tablet bundle also includes a two-year subscription to Azoomee worth £79.98.
