US case-maker is targeting retail partnerships after launching “Guardian” cases for iPhones and Samsung Galaxy devices

US smartphone case-maker Peli is targeting UK retail partnerships after launching its range of ruggedised cases in Europe last month.

The California-based manufacturer, which sells durable cases for iPhones and Samsung devices, began 40 years ago as Pelican Inc. selling ruggedised cameras and flashlights. It moved into consumer technology cases two years ago, and launched in the UK at the beginning of March with a new range of slimmer, rugged cases called the “Guardian” range.

In the US, Peli is in more than 2,600 AT&T stores after a year long exclusive partnership with the operator, which ended recently. It has also started selling products through BestBuy, Verizon and T-Mobile. Peli consumer sales manager for EMEA Andy Comerford said Peli aims to replicate its retail success across Europe.

Lifetime

“We launched in Europe earlier this year and developed a new range of cases just for this market,” Comerford told Mobile News.

“We’re one of the oldest ruggedised manufacturers and can really offer some key USPs to our retail partners, such as a lifetime warranty on all our products, and a good history of protecting devices.

“Our next key step is developing new retail partnerships in this market and replicating the success we’ve seen in the States across Europe.”
