Radius completes acquisition of Rainbow Communications

The acquisition sees Radius strengthen its position in Ireland 

Radius Payment Solutions has continued its telecoms push with the acquisition of Rainbow Communications.

The acquisition of the Belfast-based telecoms provider is the eighth that Radius has completed in the last two years.

It follows the acquisition last year of another Belfast telecoms business, Connect Total Communications. The move continues Radius’ plans to boost its presence in the region.

Radius also completed the takeover of Pure Telecom and Trinity Maxwell in recent times.

Rainbow Communications has a customer base made up of more than 10,000 businesses and supply a range of services including connectivity, hosted VOIP and mobile.

Radius CEO Bill Holmes said: “Eric and Martin have built a great business over the last 20 years and have a strong customer base that includes many of Northern Ireland’s Top 200 Companies.

“We are really looking forward to working with their team to continue this success and innovate with new products and services over the years ahead.”

Platform to grow

The recent acquisitions of Rainbow Communications and Connect Total strengthens Radius Group’s presence in Ireland and builds upon the existing mobile and fixed line services it offers.

Radius has operated for the past 25 years within Ireland, growing its customer base under the DCI brand, which is a provider of fuel card solutions.

As part of this acquisition, DCI customers will be able to make use of a broader variety of products and services from one single provider.

Radius Connect MD Ray Ferris said the acquisition provides the company with a better platform to grow.

“The acquisition of Rainbow Communications gives us a greater platform to provide non-mobile services to our growing customer base in Ireland.

“Rainbow has an excellent reputation in the local market and compliments our growing mobile business to give customers more choice with their transition from legacy technology to cloud services.”
