New flagship handset is due to be launched at Unpacked event at Mobile World Congress next week, but leaked ad shows device is waterproof and comes with wireless charging
Samsung has accidentally leaked an advert showing off the new Galaxy S7 edge, which is set to launch at Mobile World Congress on Sunday (February 21).
The video, which has been uploaded to Samsung Indonesia’s YouTube account, appears to show offer several new features including wireless charging and water resistance.
It demonstrates an unnamed device with the tagline “TheNextGalaxy”, though the handset shown looks very similar to a Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+.
The teaser shows Indonesian archer Dellie Threesyadinda using the phone and a Samsung Gear S2 to track her performance as she runs through a forest and fires an arrow.
It comes just a day after alleged prices and specs for the device, which is expected to go on sale next month, leaked.
Dutch technology blog Tweakers have published European prices for 32GB versions of the S7 and S7 edge.
The 32GB Galaxy S7 and 32GB Galaxy S7 Edge are expected to cost ‚¬699 and ‚¬799, some £540 and £620 converted.
Last year, Samsung charged £599 for the Galaxy S6 and £699 for the Galaxy S6 Edge in the UK at launch. Both of this prices dropped a few months after launch due to sluggish sales.
