Only the second non-Korean to head Poland division
Samsung UK and Ireland head Conor Pierce has been selected to run Samsung in Poland. Pierce joined Samsung Electronics from a similar position at Nokia in 2015 where he was Vice President of the IT & Mobile division for the UK and Ireland markets.
Samsung has a leading market share of 30 per cent in Poland followed by Xiaomi and Apple according to Stat Counter Global Stats.
“I am extremely proud of taking role of president in Samsung Electronics Polska. The Polish team is known for outstanding achievements. Despite the turbulent times, Samsung will remain on the path of growth. My role is to pave the way for great people to do what they have never done before. Equally important are solid relationships with partners” he said.
He lead Samsung through digital transformation and to its leading position on the market. In the UK he ran a team of 250.
He has also worked for companies such as Ericsson, Microsoft.
“This international experience had a great impact on the increase in sales of Samsung products and maintaining the leading position in very competitive markets. . In Poland, Conor Pierce will be responsible for further development and strengthening of Samsung’s position” said a Samsung statement
Samsung has promoted 158 executives globally, including 13 executive vice presidents, 35 senior vice presidents and 95 vice presidents. Pierce’s promotion is the only promotion to Corporate Vice President in the IM business globally, highlighting the importance of the UK & Ireland market to Samsung Electronics.
