Updated Vendor Engagement Forum will be held in Chester on September 30 and will see distributor offer advice on selling in small business sector
Tech Data has launched a new reseller training scheme aimed at helping its partners sell in to the small and medium sized business (SMB) market.
Previously known as the Vendor Engagement Forum, the Basingstoke-based distributor will invite its partners to the refreshed Tech Data Partner Academy day in Chester on September 30.
The Academy Day will see representatives from all of tech Data’s business units, including Tech Data Mobile, Azlan, Maverick, and Datatech give presentations on what services the disti offers for SMBs. The event will take place at the Carden Park Hotel, and will include a drinks reception and dinner.
“SMB partners will get a tremendous amount of value by attending the Partner Academy”, said marketing services director Sara Gemmell. “It is specifically designed to help SMB-focused partner sales teams improve their knowledge and skills, get right up to date with the very latest solutions and technologies, and deepen their relationships with vendors and our own teams.
“In addition to the plenary sessions, there will be opportunities to get in-depth insights into new solutions during smaller interactive sessions and to meet, network and hold face-to-face discussions with a diverse range of leading vendors and Tech Data personnel. It will be beneficial and time very well spent for everyone involved.”
Services set to be highlighted at the event include Tech Data’s sales support and bid-pricing, online resources and financial support. Earlier this year, the distributor made over £150 million additional credit available to more than 4000 of its customers.
