The distributor will be stocking three cameras from SpotCam’s entire range of home security products
Tech Data has signed a new deal to become the exclusive UK distributor of SpotCam home security cameras.
The Basingstoke-based company will be stocking three cameras, including the HD, HD Pro and HD Eva. The HD and Eva variants are both indoor-only whilst the waterproof HD Pro has been designed for outdoor usage.
Each can be triggered via a motion sensor and owners of the device are then alerted either by email or a mobile app, which provides access to real-time video taken using the cameras. Pricing for the cameras start from £129.99. The major difference between the HD and HD Eva is 360 degree coverage, only available on the latter.
Cameras can also be controlled remotely, with the most recent 24 hours of footage being available free of charge to owners. Footage spread separately across three, seven or 30 day periods will cost an additional extra. Night vision and two-way audio are also features.
Tech Data UK smart home business development manager Teresa Johnston said: “Home security is a real concern for many people now and the two factors that are most important to them are simplicity and affordability.
“SpotCam delivers on both counts and makes it really easy to set up and monitor their home, remote areas like stables or gardens, or small office premises. We think they present more retailers with a good opportunity to get customers genuinely interested in home security.”
