Smartphone features ‘4G Super-Voice’, which mobile operator claims will boost indoor and rural coverage
Three will exclusively sell the ZTE Blade V7 in the UK, signalling the beginning of a partnership with the Chinese manufacturer.
Contracts start from £9 per month with 500MB of data, 300 minutes, unlimited texts and no upfront cost. Roaming scheme ‘Feel at Home’ is not included in this starter plan. It will also cost £129.99 on prepay.
The V7 features 4G SuperVoice (4GSV). It uses low-frequency 800Mhz spectrum, which is better at penetrating through walls to offer clearer voice calls using mobile data. Three was the first operator to introduce 4GSV in the UK in September 2015.
It is powered by a 1.3GHz processor and houses a 5.2-inch HD touchscreen, 13 megapixel rear and five megapixel front cameras and 2GB of RAM.
Only a 16GB model will be available, with a microSD slot down the side that doubles as a dual-SIM slot.
Three head of devices Sylvia Chind said: “The Blade V7 is our lowest ever 4G Super-Voice enabled phone that will allow more people than ever to benefit from improved indoor and rural coverage.
“It boasts many features of a high-end smartphone at a fraction of the cost so will appeal to those customers looking for a bargain.”
