Vodafone is using eSIM technology and QR codes to offer Glastonbury-goers who are subscribers on other networks a free seven day trial of the network.
Festival goers scan a QR code at Vodafone’s Connect and Charge stand or click on a link in the in the Official Glastonbury App (below) to get 50GB data, 500 minutes and 500 texts for seven days

Vodafone will be rolling out thie eSIM trial to other events throughout the summer, such as Wimbledon, Boardmasters Festival and Kendal Calling.
eSIM technology means users won’t have to change their number or swap their SIM card. They can switch between Vodafone’s network and their current network through device settings.
Vodafone expects data consumption to rise above 215 terabytes at the festival.
Rob Winterschladen, Consumer Director for Vodafone UK, said: “Our eSIM network trial will offer non-Vodafone customers the chance to trial our network if they can’t connect to their own provider and, with Vodafone delivering the most capacity ever at Worthy Farm, we will offer them a compelling network experience.”
