Operator beats global network rivals including AT&T, Telefonica and Deutsche Telekom to top the list of best providers for a second year running
Vodafone has been named as the best machine-to-machine (M2M) provider worldwide in Gartner’s latest ‘Magic Quadrant’ report.
The operator came top of both the ‘ability to execute’ and ‘completeness of vision’ categories for the second year running.
The ‘ability to execute’ category is evaluated on the product or service; overall viability; sales execution and pricing; market responsiveness and record; marketing execution; customer experience and operations.
Criteria for ‘completeness of vision’ category include market understanding; marketing strategy; sales strategy; offering (product) strategy; business model; vertical and industry strategy; innovation and geographic strategy.
Vodafone director of M2M Erik Brenneis said: “M2M is a highly competitive and rapidly evolving market. We welcome this recognition – for the second year in a row – of the scale and scope of our network together with our commitment to meeting our customers’ needs.”
Other operators that performed well include US carrier AT&T, O2 parent company Telefonica and one of EE’s parent companies Deutsche Telekom, who all ranked as “leaders in execution” and “visionaries”.
