Legg has 30 years of experience in the telecoms sector

Rural broadband provider, Voneus, has announced Trevor Legg as its chief operating officer (COO) and newest executive committee member.

He was formerly group director at Sky and was responsible for the growth of Sky’s Broadband’s exchange and build programme.

As COO, Legg will lead on the design and infrastructure builds for the delivery of Voneus’ FWA and FTTP services to some of England and Wales’ rural communities.

Voneus has found 200,000 rural premises and aims to complete the first phase of its FTTP roll-out plan by March 2023.

Legg said: “It is a privilege to take up the role of COO to help accelerate Voneus’ full fibre broadband service to thousands of underserved rural homes and businesses.

“Voneus is making what has been deemed impossible, possible for so many areas that have been left behind by other broadband providers. It’s our mission to break down the barriers and overcome the challenges to deliver ultrafast broadband that’s desperately needed in rural areas.

‘I’m looking forward to working with people from all over the business to deliver our plans and in turn provide the customers and communities we serve with the connectivity they deserve.”
