The Chinese company also used IFA to launch its new MediaPad M3 tablet
Huawei has unveiled its new nova handset range, which it claims is equipped with ‘category-leading’ cameras.
The Chinese manufacturer unveiled the range today (September 1) at IFA in Berlin. It comprises of two handsets; the regular nova and the nova plus. The former comes with a 12MP rear camera, whilst the latter has a higher quality 16MP snapper. Both include what Huawei claims is a ‘category-leading’ 8MP front lens designed to capture better selfies in any lighting condition.
Battery life lasts for up to two days, according to Huawei. A fingerprint sensor has also been added for security, which can be altered to activate the smartphone’s camera. Each variant is available in three colours; ‘Prestige Gold,’ ‘Mystic Silver’ and ‘Titanium Grey.’
Huawei has not yet confirmed UK pricing or availability. However, throughout Europe pricing for the nova and nova plus start from ‚¬399 (£335) and ‚¬429 (£360) respectively.
MediaPad M3
The smartphone manufacturer also used the annual event to launch its new MediaPad M3 tablet (pictured below).
Available in both WiFi and 4G variations, it features stereo speakers created in partnership with audio specialists Harman Kardon and AKG. Huawei claims the technology allows the tablet to offer sound with ‘stunning clarity’ and ‘detail.’
The screen measures 8.4-inches and comes with an ‘Eye comfort’ mode. This filters out harmful blue lights which can otherwise strain a user’s eyes when they are using the device in a darkened room. The M3 weighs just 310 grams and provides up to 11 hours of battery life. An 8MP rear camera and fingerprint sensor have been installed. Internal memory stands at either 32GB or 64GB.
The product will be available in the UK from September 26, although exact pricing has not yet been confirmed. European pricing starts from ‚¬349 (£293).
