Samsung has initiated a a Galaxy Note7 product exchange programme for customers in the UK and Ireland.
This has launched this following the announcement on September 2 that the manufacturer was recalling all stock of the phablet because of isolated battery cell issues, with a small number of the devices catching fire.
For customers in the UK that have already bought a Note7,Samsung said that in collaboration with its partners and operators, will voluntarily replace this with a new one.
They will be contacts by the provider or operator from which they purchased the product in order to arrange an exchange of their device. This will begin from September 19.
Proactive approach
Samsung UK and Ireland vice president of IT and mobile Conor Pierce said: “The safety and satisfaction of customers is our top priority and by working closely with our partners and operators, we are taking a proactive approach to address the needs of Galaxy Note7 customers in the UK.
“We are encouraging customers to exchange their Galaxy Note7 by taking advantage of the Product Exchange Programme.”
