Around 70,000 Taylor Swift fans at the Cardiff concert used up enough data to download more than 700 full-length HD movies, Vodafone reports.
More than 3.314 terabytes of data were sent and received during the show.
“Swifties recorded such a huge increase in data consumption that they beat Harry Styles and Pink concerts by 1.1TB and 1.3TB, respectively, with an increase of 53% compared to Harry Styles and 6% compared to Pink.
“More than 70,000 fans packed out Principality Stadium in Cardiff to see megastar Taylor Swift during the UK leg of her epic Eras tour, and Vodafone data shows that more than 3.314 terabytes of data were consumed by the Swifties during the concert – the most Vodafone data ever used at Principality Stadium,” said the network’s concert analysis.
Vodafone is the ‘Digital Transformation Partner’ to the Cardiff Principality Stadium and has upgraded the stadium to 5G, with more than 10 times the radio hardware compared with a single mast.
Andrea Dona, Chief Network Officer at Vodafone UK, said: “We know how important it is for people to stay connected, especially at events and concerts. I’m proud that we were able to support the increasing data demands of Swifties.”
