Customers can now order small box items from Currys/PC World online and collect in 22 Carphone stores across London, Hertfordshire and Canterbury as part of trial
Dixons Carphone has launched a trial Click and Collect service that lets Currys/PC World customers collect small items ordered online from their local Carphone Warehouse store.
The proof of concept service means customers can order small box items, from sim cards to printers and excluding floor care, microwaves, and LSTVs, and collect them at 22 Carphone stores across London, Hertfordshire and Canterbury.
Dixons Carphone said it had brought in the 16 week trial after feedback from customers highlighted that the closer the shop for collection, the greater the multichannel conversion rate.
The retailer said that if the proof of concept is successful, it will consider rolling the service out to a greater number of stores across the next few years. Dixons Carphone owns Carphone Warehouse, as well as Currys/PC World.
A Dixons Carphone spokesperson said: “Our customers really value the convenience of being able to Click and Collect within Currys/PCWorld stores, so we are launching a trial to offer them the free Currys/PCWorld Click and Collect service in a small number of Carphone Warehouse stores.
“The trial will last for 16 weeks during our busy peak period and during this time our customers will be able to order small box items to 22 stores around London, Hertfordshire and Canterbury. We will review the offer based on the feedback we get during the trial, but we are excited to be able to offer our customers this new service.”
